Overview

The V901 Seismograph is a battery powered portable vibration monitor. It was designed and built to measure blasting, piling, demolition construction and traffic vibrations. It can also measure air overpressure from blasting using the options microphone.

The ultimate configuration of the Vibrock V901 seismograph (POD) is intended for long term unattended monitoring. The unit is column mounted in a lockable metal box with solar panel and integral modem. The modem may be either a GSM cellular unit or a fixed device connected directly to a telephone line.

The solar panel provides sufficient power to run the system indefinitely, hence the panel supplied will vary in size dependent upon latitude and prevailing climatic conditions.

In the above configuration, the V901 may be set-up, interrogated and downloaded from a remote computer, thus obviating the need to make regular visits to site.

All software and hardware is supplied with the exception of the remote computer and its modem, which are available at additional cost if required.

Installation is generally straightforward, the main requirements being a relatively secure location and a southerly aspect to ensure that the solar panel receives maximum exposure to the sun. However, if necessary, Vibrock engineers offer a full installation service.
